Formation Mechanisms and Three-dimensional Characterization of Composite Inclusions in Low Aluminum Steel Deoxidized by Silicon

Silicon deoxidized steel takes a large proportion in addition to aluminum steel, since deoxidation may cause many problems, such as nozzle clogging and low toughness. In this paper, silicon was prepared the laboratory. The inclusions mainly include MnS composite made of oxides. formation inclusion discussed based on thermodynamic calculations. It clarified that precipitate during solidification process steel. addition, mechanism illustrated from perspective thermodynamics lattice mismatch. were reconstructed by Micro-CT three-dimensional (3D) morphologies analyzed details. This method avoids artifacts misleading two-dimensional observation cross sections samples. Meanwhile, 3D is an innovation way characterize different phases simultaneously, which paved for analysis
